Club Ladies Day

On Wednesday 20th November, it was the ladies turn to have a day out.

After a lot of deliberation, An Easton Bus trip to ‘Christmas at Kew’ was chosen and the tickets booked. As it was so close to Christmas we thought it would be a nice seasonal event to go to.

Due to poor Pam being unable to join us, our Club VP Russell James stepped into the breech to join us.

A tinsel decorated bus picked us up from Harford Park and Ride at 11.15 and we headed off. First stop was South Minns Services and to our surprise we were told there was enough time for a 2 hr stop in Windsor to have a look around.

Of course Windsor being no different from anywhere else, had lots of Christmas decorations up and we stopped to admire the huge Christmas Tree by the entrance to the Windsor Castle. After taking lots of photos we headed back to a Café by the bus Park to get a nice warm cup of Tea and slice of Cake !!

On the Bus again we were taken to Kew Gardens, very well organised Bus parking allowed us to get off by the gate and after a bag search, we headed into the vast gardens.

A walking path lead us around Kew.  It was an absolute horticultural delight, with so many trees and Christmas light displays in every Christmas colour you can think of !!

A Café and gift Shop half way around provided a warm up as by then the time was getting late and the temperature was dropping, good job we were all wrapped up warm….. I was very glad that I remembered my gloves !!  Although it added to the Christmas atmosphere, we were glad to warm up on the bus to go home.

A definite visit if you have the time……it was Magical !!

Merry Christmas Everyone, Hope to see you all in 2020 !!
