Just for a change the weather on the Spring Bank Holiday weekend was glorious, the perfect weather to enjoy taking your Classic Car to a show.
After almost 15 months with no shows to look forward to, it was a delight to join fellow Club members and other Classic Car enthusiasts at the Stody Lodge Gardens Classic Vehicle Day at Melton Constable, near Holt.
The Stody Estate garden has light sandy acid soil and is particularly suitable for growing rhododendrons. During May the gardens are open and have a spectacular display of over 200 varieties lining the walks and pathways. Leaving the main garden behind is the Azalea Water Garden, which has over 2000 azaleas and is believed to be the largest planting in the UK.
All in all a perfect setting for a Classic Car display, where this year at least 250 cars were parked up in the sunshine. It was good to see fellow enthusiasts out enjoying the day.
Certainly a good start to the 2021 show season with the prospect of similar events to follow.

Dear Rover Friends….. Finally, I have lots of positive news for you all.
We at the NNROC are proud to announce details of our Annual Club Rally at Bressingham Gardens and Steam Museum on Sunday 5th September 2021.
Covid Guidelines from gov.uk will apply if necessary, but our entry form is on our events calendar for you to download if you wish to join us.
We have limited entries to just 85 this year and we have very limited places left. Entry Deadline is 31st July.
As you can appreciate this last year and a half has been exceptionally difficult to advertise events, as there have been none, or lots of cancellations to announce, we aim to help all our Club Members and all Rover owners if possible and apologise for any upset this time lapse has caused. But Covid has been extremely difficult to navigate and hopefully, god willing we are in the other side now.
MORE GOOD NEWS – If all is stable after 21st June and we can hold an actual Meeting at Mangreen. We are aiming for Tuesday 27th July at 7pm. Please contact us via phone or email if you would like to join us and put the date down in your diaries.
Stay Safe All – Hope to see you all soon.
Keep The Rover Name Alive.
Marie-Anne Read – Chairman NNROC
